Dr. Chris Yavis, Founder and Lead Chiropractor
Dr. Yavis completed his Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary. Then, it was off to Toronto to attend Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, where he achieved his Doctor of Chiropractic. He returned home where he began practicing in Calgary as an associate and then finally moved his practice to Okotoks and founded Complete Health Chiropractic & Massage.
At Complete Health Chiropractic & Massage, Dr. Yavis likes developing relationships with his practice members and getting to know them. He feels that a healthy relationship is vital in gaining their trust and helping them obtain their true goals when it comes to their health. He not only looks at your pain but how he can improve your daily life, to help you live longer and healthier. His goal is to keep you doing the things you love to do.
Dr. Cody Froese, Chiropractor
Growing up, Dr. Froese engaged in a diverse range of sports including hockey, football, lacrosse, soccer, volleyball, basketball, and baseball. This firsthand experience has given him a profound understanding of the physical demands of various sports and activities. Beyond the realm of health and wellness, Dr. Cody is an avid sports enthusiast, staying meticulously updated on scores, standings, news, and stats. His love for sports is not confined to the professional arena; it’s a reflection of his lifelong commitment to the principles of movement, competition, and well-being. In his downtime, you’ll find Dr. Cody engaged in weightlifting – a testament to his dedication to personal fitness. Additionally, he finds joy in exploring the latest and greatest in the world of entertainment, indulging in streaming new TV shows and movies with his wife.

Julia Gillespie, Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)
Julia Gillespie has a passion for massage therapy stemming from a strong desire to help people free themselves from the pain and stress that everyday life can bring on. Julia graduated from Makami College with 3000 hours of training and specializes in Swedish relaxation massage, deep tissue and myofascial cupping. She has a good range of massage, from light and relaxing to deep pressure massage, in order to help cater to everyone’s particular massage needs. Relaxation is key to a healthy mind and body, and Julie encourages you to book your massage today and begin your journey to a healthier, happier you.
Christopher Jacobson, Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)
Chris is a Calgary native and a loving father of three wonderful kids. With his holistic approach to individual well-being, Chris joins our team on a part time basis as he continues a practice from home and furthers his education. His practice incorporates advanced orthopaedic skills, muscle energy techniques and osteopathic manipulation that address pelvic, lumbar and SI imbalances. He finds purpose in affecting real change in clients’ persistent issues; resolving long term challenges with a collaborative client focused approach. Chris is now certified in dynamic cupping, which compliments massage therapy by addressing fascial issues.
Malissa Sargent, Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)
Malissa Sargent is a member of the MTAA (Massage Therapy Association of Alberta) and received her education here in Calgary at MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy. Malissa sensed a pull in the direction of Massage Therapy from a very young age; she is compassionate by nature and felt purpose in helping others. Malissa specializes in prenatal and postnatal massage with a focus on pain relief as well as relaxation. She also enjoys treating sports injuries, overuse injuries, nerve impingements and postural dysfunctions using deeper, therapeutic techniques. In her spare time, Malissa loves spending time with her family and two dogs, camping, snowboarding and running outdoors. Her approach is unique and specific to each client, and she is excited to be an essential part of the Complete Health Chiropractic & Massage team. Malissa now offers Hot Stone Massage!
Mary (Suzie) Christensen, Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)
I am an active wife and mother of four amazing kids. I understand the demands of work and family life and their effect on the body. I am a graduate of MH Vicars School of massage – Calgary, and I specialize in Relaxation and a variety of effective therapeutic and remedial massage techniques. I believe that the body is very resilient and that with a little help and education, you can be back to feeling yourself again. I am grateful to be a part of the Complete Health Chiropractic & Massage team and look forward to working with you.
Talia Karl, Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)
Hey, I’m Talia! I have a lot of loves, from high adrenaline adventures to being still and meditating. I love to travel, quad, camp, swim, trail ride, and play guitar but spend most my spare time making delicious nutritious foods, working out, being in nature, painting, singing and playing crystal sound bowls, listening to books and podcasts, learning about our bodies and how the world around us works!
Shane Guertin, Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)
Shane is a Registered Massage Therapist with over 24 years of experience along with 2400 hour diploma from Mckays School of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. As a registered member of the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada, Shane has worked with an array of clientele, including elite athletes, patients involved in motor vehicle accidents, and pregnancy patients, to name a few. Shane is highly skilled in deep tissue massage, myofascial mobilization, and trigger point therapy.

Dr. Selina Bourgeois, Acupuncturist
Dr. Selina Bourgeois is a Doctor of Acupuncture and a graduate from the Alberta College of Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine. She initially sought out an alternative approach to healing with acupuncture, herbs and diet therapy when the conventional methods were not helping. This sparked a desire to work in the healing arts to bring this to other people. She started out with a Registered Massage Therapist diploma and has since expanded to learning to work with the body in a more detailed and holistic manner.
When she is not treating patients, you can find her doing continuing education courses, reading all kinds of different books, spending time in nature, spending time with friends and family, and any kind of movement from yoga and Pilates to lifting weights.
Her specialties include treating digestive issues, anxiety/depression, insomnia, fertility/prenatal/labour induction, gynecological issues including perimenopause/menopause, facial rejuvenation and all pain conditions. Selina uses a combination of acupuncture, herbs, cupping, gua sha, electro-stimulation, and motor points as part of her treatments.
Matthew Firoentini, Physiotherapist
Matthew is a dedicated and passionate physiotherapist who began his journey at the University of Western Ontario, where he graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2021. His commitment to advancing his knowledge and skills led him to pursue a Master of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Alberta, where he graduated in Spring of 2024.
In the future, Matthew will pursue additional training in various areas to further enhance his physiotherapy practice, including Functional Dry Needling (Levels 1 & 2), Orthopedic Levels, Vestibular and Temporomandibular (TMJ) training.
Caitie Olson, Clinic Manager, Patient Care Facilitator
With over 7 years in the health and wellness industry, I’ve found my passion in managing a space where healing and wellness come first. As Clinic Manager, I’m dedicated to ensuring our patients receive the best care possible and that our team operates smoothly and efficiently. I love working directly with our patients, seeing them progress and recover in a safe, supportive environment. The joy of watching people heal and thrive is what keeps me motivated every day.
I’m fortunate to work with a fantastic team of professionals who share the same commitment to patient care, and together, we create an atmosphere of trust and well-being. Outside of the clinic, I enjoy movie nights with friends, mountain adventures with my spouse and dog, and just being in nature whenever I can. I believe in the power of balance, and I strive to bring that mindset to both my personal life and my work.
Oriana Borrego Martinez, Patient Care Facilitator
I’ve recently completed my first year of massage therapy studies and am now focusing on lymphatic and gut health. My journey is deeply rooted in a passion for self-care, and I am dedicated to exploring holistic practices that nurture the body and mind. When I’m not working, you’ll often find me trying new self-care rituals while cuddling with Pomeranian, sipping coffee at a cafe, snowboarding in the mountains and trying out new recipes.
Sofia Lauren, Patient Care Facilitator
I enjoy traveling and going outside to explore/learn different things. I love going shopping, thrifting is also a passion of mine. I couldn’t live without my 2 Aussies as they are my world. Being at Complete Health Chiropractic & Massage lets me interact with patients everyday on a personal side while learning new things about Health and the importance of it.
Chyanne Simpson, Assistant Clinic Manager, Patient Care Facilitator
Chyanne joined the Complete Health Chiropractic & Massage team as a full-time chiropractic assistant in December 2022 and recently took over as Assistant Manager. Growing up in Okotoks, she developed a passion for physical fitness and health from being a competitive swimmer for 15 years. Starting with the local team of Okotoks before moving on to join the varsity team at the University of Lethbridge. They were able to accomplish this while completing her degree in Psychology and Linguistics. Outside of the clinic you will find Chyanne curled up with a good book, enjoying concerts with friends, and focusing on continued development for her very own home library.
