In cases where your insurance does not allow direct billing, we may ask you to pay upfront and provide you with all the necessary billing and other documentation to claim your money from your insurance company.

Each patient’s treatment plan and recovery time differs. You may need to follow the therapist’s instructions for in-clinic and in-home exercises and activities. Your therapist or health and wellness provider may suggest to you a recovery time.

If you have left the scene of an accident, you may need to see your Family Doctor/Physician first in order to assess your injuries. You will also speak to the insurance adjuster about opening your accident claim. While your adjuster may refer you to some specific clinics, in Alberta, patients have the right to choose the clinic of their own choosing. Complete Health Chiropractic & Massage is proud to serve patients for recovery, strengthening and pain relief. We listen, we act and we care for all our new and existing patients!

Canadian chiropractors must complete a minimum of seven years of specific post-secondary education from an accredited chiropractic college. Upon graduation, chiropractors complete a 4,500-hour classroom and clinical program (this usually takes 4 – 5 years). To be a chiropractor in Alberta, Chiropractors must successfully pass national board exams and continue building on professional competency by taking certain seminars and courses throughout the year.

The popping or cracking noise comes from the fluid in your joints. The fluid acts as a lubricant between the bones of the joint. When a joint is adjusted, there is a pressure release (like opening a can of soda) and sometimes it makes a ‘pop’ sound.

We recommend that the number of treatments you need and the frequency of your treatments be based on several factors such as:

  • Recommended treatment guidelines
  • How long you have had the problem
  • Previous injuries to the area
  • Complicating factors (i.e. – Osteoarthritis or Degenerative Disc Disease)

Everyone is different and heals at different rates. As such, we closely monitor your progress throughout your treatment and make any changes accordingly. We do not use a cookie-cutter approach for every problem. Your particular treatment plan is designed specifically for your problem and your body. We also consider the demands on your body from daily work, life and/or sports activities.

The first phase of chiropractic treatment is to address and resolve your pain. Treatments are scheduled close together to achieve this goal as quickly as possible. As your symptoms lessen, the second phase of your treatment will shift away from pain management and more towards corrective care. In corrective care, treatments are less frequent but still necessary to ensure that your spine has time to stabilize and that the surrounding tissues are strong. Stopping treatment prematurely will leave you prone to re-injury. Home stretching and/or exercises may also be part of your treatment program.

Acupuncture needles are very thin and most people feel little to no sensation at all when they are inserted. Sometimes the needles can cause temporary soreness at the site.
